A Quick Bite with FARMstead ED

Always a pleasure to be invited to chat with David Wilson on A Quick Bite radio about upcoming FARMstead ED events & workshops! David chats with great friend of the show, Lynette Sonne, founder of FARMstead ED, whose mission is to bring folks together with locally-grown-locally-made via Ag Ed experiences, events and gatherings. Most events typically include a site tour, a farmstead demonstration, a hands-on workshop and a pop-up mercantile that’s often stocked with the materials necessary for you to do-it-yourself at home. Upcoming events include: All About Sausage with J&R Natural Meat on June 10th, Yoga with Goats on...

A Journey Into The World of Heritage Pork ..... as seen BY HAYLEY THOMAS    Let’s cut to the meat of the matter. Have you heard of pork butter yet?  No? Let’s fix that. I had no idea what it was either—that is, until my husband and I attended a drool-inducing Pork to Plate seminar hosted by FARMstead Ed at J&R Meats in Paso Robles. The moment local cookbook author Brigit Binns uttered those two words to the group, a collective murmur washed over the crowd. Foodies turned to farmers, farmers to bacon fetishists. I actually laughed with pure giddiness.  read more...
