Harvest is nearly complete. It came fast with more quality and less yield for what we hope will be a better end result. A quirky year of weather, and growing patterns, has delivered a bounty of delicious produce for us to enjoy in erratic spurts. When and if the fruit came on it seemed to be bumper crops to very little at all. The first go to answer for this result is the drought, but look further you will hear folks say it was also many other facets that Mother Nature & Human Nature had to offer us this year. I had no idea what it was either—that is, until my husband and I attended a drool-inducing Pork to Plate seminar hosted by FARMstead Ed at J&R Meats in Paso Robles.
