Today the Cork Dorks were joined by Julie Simon from Windrose Farm, Ali Carscaden from 15C Wine Bar, and Lauren Butler of Yes Cocktail Company to talk about the upcoming Heirloom Tomato Festival.
This weekend at the Heirloom Tomato Festival, attendees get to taste over 40 varieties of heirloom tomatoes all while touring the beautiful land on Windrose Farm. Several local chefs, vendors, and artisan purveyors will be there preparing samples of their delicious recipes, featuring Windrose Farm tomatoes and tasty produce. On Sunday night they are having a sold out Tomato Dinner, showcasing Windrose Farm heirloom tomatoes, locally raised meat and produce all paired with fabulous wines.
This festival is a collaboration with FARMstead ED, a local organization focused on bringing the community together to celebrate locally owned and locally produced products. Tomatoes and other produce from Windrose Farm will be available to purchase at the festival, as well as many other locally produced products.
The Heirloom Tomato Festival is happening this weekend, September 23rd and 24th, from 2-6 PM and is free for children 10 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the event, or can be found at www.FARMsteadED.com
